This is a journal. It's where I write about stuff that I think random people on the internet might want to hear about for some reason.

To my American Comrades,

I know that there's a lot wrong with our country right now, let alone the whole world. And I know that signing a petition is no substitute for direct action and getting out in the streets and becoming one with the critical mass needed to change this country for the better.

But for now, when you're not out showing solidarity with the 99% in the streets, at least you can take 2 minutes to sign this petition to overturn the undemocratic decision laid out in Citizens United while you go on with your daily internet lives.

This petition is for the Saving American Democracy Amendment.

This amendment states that:

Corporations are not persons with constitutional rights equal to real people.
Corporations are subject to regulation by the people.
Corporations may not make campaign contributions.
Congress and states have the power to regulate campaign finances.

And if you have friends and family and comrades elsewhere in real life or online, get them to sign this petition. (Unfortunately, they can only sign it if they live in the United States but I'm sure just about all of us know someone living in the United States.) And have them spread this petition to their family and friends, and have those family and friends spread it to all of their family and friends.

So let's spread Bernie Sanders's message all across America and end the corporate regime!

Copy and paste this journal text into your journal to spread this message across Deviantart!

Some recommendations:

1) Do not equate your position on SOPA support/opposition to other unrelated political interests, such as the 99% (Occupy Wall Street). I am inclined to never sign your petition based upon this alone.

2) Do not equate your position to be more democratic than any other position unless the issue is about voting rights. This implies that you carry some innate wisdom that pushes your position into a moral superiority compared to the other positions. To me that signals that you are probably not well informed on the subject and are busier trying to market your position instead of address specific concerns. You are better how explaining that there are certain harms present and you seek to amend those harms away. This way you still voice the same issues without some aura of superiority.

3) Be specific in what you want and, if necessary, what the problems are. Your points sound incredibly vague so as to be taken any direction.
