And so, the #OccupyTogether protests grew in size and prominence, and the ruling class could not ignore them any longer. By 2012, they grew to such size that the government established emergency rule over the United States. This did not stop the throngs of people from organizing on underground servers.
Then on May 1st, 2012, renegade Anons sent out a widespread DDoS attack on the New York Stock Exchange, essentially crippling the system. Though the attack only lasted a few hours, such an event was prominent enough to stop trade completely, gaining the attention of the government who shut down all power in the country temporarily, to disarm the protest movement.
However, by temporary, they meant for an indefinite period of time. Power was still out by Election Day 2012. Therefore, the votes could not be counted electronically but were instead done the old-fashioned way with paper. The vote-counters, burned-out as many were, became absolutely irate when they had to count millions upon millions of votes. Not wanting to do the tedious job, they committed voter fraud and Barack Obama became president for a second term.
This move by the U.S. government to shut down power for the entire country, and to commit widespread voter fraud, was met with great scorn in the United Nations, especially among the delegates from the Middle East, who used this fiasco as an opportunity to pressure the UN to enact sanctions on the U.S.A. Convincing the delegates representing members of many developing nations as well, as well as China, Russia, France, and Great Britain on the Security Council, doing acts of arm-twisting to convince the American delegate not to veto it, the resolution passed with a super-majority.
The sanctions weakened the U.S. government to the point in which storming Washington D.C. was easy for the protestors. President Barack Obama conceded to the protestors and stepped down from office without a single shot fired. The chosen leader of the new country of the United Socialist States of America was Stewart Alexander, the Socialist Party USA candidate for the 2012 election that never really happened.
So how's that for a first try? Leave a comment and tell me what you think.
I don't see the UN not rubber stamping any election result that resulted in Obama winning. Nor do I see many Islamic nation doing this either. Some would, but it's Islam. The occupiers mean well, but they are tools. They don't mean to be, but no one does.
Though Americans, especially young ones, seem to be turning to socialism, though they probably don't know what socialism actually is. They might've just heard about all the stuff about Western Europe and Scandinavia and thought it sounded good, not knowing that that's social democracy in which the wealthy still have the power, rather than the working class, but there's stronger safety nets than in America.
And I guess libertarianism could be becoming popular as well if you just look at all the fervent Ron Paul supporters that only seem to exist on the internet. (It seems like most people online are either communists, Ron Paul supporters, or Neo-Nazis, at least from the ever-so reliable anecdotal evidence.)
Well, I applaud you for realizing and admitting that the success of Scandinavia is hardly due to “socialism.” In fact, a cursory internet search will reveal that those countries (aside from being countries with dense populations and immense natural resources, which would obviously amount to a few people with a lot of money) have plenty of Laissez-faire measures in place. For example, Sweden has a lower corporate tax rate than our own. Also, the Baltic countries of Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia have implemented austerity measures that would make Scott Walker look like a communist by comparison, and yet those countries have been the quickest to recover from the recession with booming GDP and plummeting national debt. So in other words, most of Europe isn’t as “socialist” as Americans think.
Probably the only thing that I liked about this story.
Of course Libertarianism is rising in America.. and Socialism kind of sucks for America.. because the US government sucks..
